Material Issue Analysis

Chicony Power has followed GRI standards and the four principles of Inclusivity, Materiality, Responsiveness, and Impact entailed in AA1000 AP (AA1000 Accountability Principles) to identify the material issues related to the Company’s operations. Additionally, the Company has identified its major stakeholders by referencing the five aspects highlighted in AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard 2015, which are Dependency, Responsibility, Tension, Influence, Diverse Perspectives, the Company has assessed the significance of the material issues’ impacts on the economy, the environment, and corporate governance in accordance with GRI Standards 2021. The assessment results have been used as the basis for the planning of sustainable development strategies and the foundation for the Report’s information disclosure.

Chicony Power follows international sustainability standards and frameworks (GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD, etc.), the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and interactions with stakeholders to identify 23 key sustainability issues. These topics are further assessed to evaluate their impact.

Through the Materiality Assessment Questionnaire, we surveyed five categories of stakeholders regarding their level of concern for the 23 sustainability issues. Based on the feedback and recommendations from stakeholders’ questionnaire responses, a matrix was produced that reflects the degree of stakeholder concern and the level of impact of these issues.

The working group continued to compile the feedback from the Materiality Assessment Questionnaire regarding both positive and negative impacts. Based on the statistical analysis of this feedback, a matrix was produced showing the degree of positive/negative impacts and the likelihood of their occurrence.

By integrating the results of the material topic survey, Chicony Power identified 15 key topics across environmental, social, and governance aspects. These topics were identified based on three main dimensions: stakeholder attention, the operational impact on the organization, and the likelihood of occurrence.
